Paul Binnie

Paul Binnie (b. 1967) is a Scottish-born painter and printmaker now living in San Diego, California. He completed his Masters in Fine Art (hons) at the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art in 1990, afterwards living in Paris, New York, Tokyo and London. His early success was in woodblock print, which he studied in Japan for almost six years, and he is now also known as a painter especially for representational male nude oils and drawings. Binnie’s academic training and his interest in the history of art bring layers of meaning unusual in contemporary artists of the male figure.
